What is Cambodia Constitution Day?

Cambodia Constitution Day is a time of historical reflection as well as a time for optimistic thoughts about the future.

The Khmer people use this day to observe the protection of human rights and the limits on the power of the Cambodian government put in place by the transformation to a constitutional monarchy in 1993. King Sihanouk signed the document marking a new beginning for the Kingdom of Cambodia and its people.

Generally, people spend this day with their family and friends. It’s a great day to strengthen bonds and reflect on how far Cambodia has come from the tragic and not-so-distant past.
